The Celeste Alvarez Scholarship
Spirit Preparatory School is honored to offer The Celeste Alvarez Scholarship, a tribute to the remarkable spirit and dedication of Celeste Alvarez, a beloved cheerleader who passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2015. At just 13 years old, Celeste's passion for cheerleading and commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on our community.
About Celeste:Celeste began her cheerleading journey with Orangecrest Cheer at the age of 5, quickly falling in love with the sport and the camaraderie it brought. Despite her young age and size, she worked tirelessly to match the skills and dedication of her older peers. Her focus on perfecting foundational skills and her unwavering determination led her to compete at the Worlds Cheerleading Championships. Celeste’s dedication extended beyond cheerleading; she maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher and embraced every aspect of her training and education with enthusiasm and commitment.
Scholarship Details:In honor of Celeste’s memory, the Celeste Alvarez Scholarship is awarded annually to a Spirit Preparatory School athlete who embodies her qualities of hard work, determination, and passion. The recipient will receive one class of their choosing at Spirit Preparatory School, one day a week for one year, free of charge. Additionally, the recipient’s name will be engraved on a plaque displayed in our gym.
Application Information:
- Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled Spirit Preparatory School students.
- Application Deadline: March 2, 2025.
- Selection Process: Applications are reviewed by the Alvarez family, who select the scholarship recipient. The chosen recipient will be announced in our April Newsletter, on social media, and posted on our website.
Applications are available at the reception desk and are accepted year-round. We are grateful for your interest and look forward to honoring Celeste’s legacy through this scholarship.
